Tips to Grow Your Business

tips to grow your business

You have established your business and defined your purpose. You are marketing to your potential clients. And you know there is more to do. But what? How do you grow your business? Those are great questions!

We’ve been sharing ideas about how to grow a business with our clients during our brain dump sessions and thought it would be a great idea to share 5 of those tips with you as well.

Organize Your Ideas

If you’re like a lot of small business owners, you have so many ideas, but they feel disorganized or overwhelming. Brain dumping ideas onto paper or a whiteboard is a great start. By creating a mind map with all of those, it helps to organize your ideas. Then you can see where there are patterns, what is most lucrative, and what ideas make the most sense to run with. This will ease the overwhelm and help you grow your business.

Hire Coaches

Have you ever heard of a professional athlete or team that was successful, who didn’t have a coach? That seems like a silly question, doesn’t it? Then why as entrepreneurs, do we feel like we have to figure it out on our own. Over the years, Kelly has hired coaches from time to time for accountability, business development, family issues, health and wellness, and spirituality. They’ve each helped her grow, personally and professionally. If we better ourselves, our business gets better as well.

Enlist People to Help

Whether you’re outsourcing to contractors, other businesses, or hiring employees, it is always a good idea to have people to help you. How much time are you spending on what tasks? That may determine who you hire first. Our clients tend to hire people to help with accounting, admin, and marketing first. Kelly always says, “Do what you are good at, and outsource everything else.” It will help you grow your business.

Automate

Whether it is automating your booking system, scheduling social media posts, creating forms that collect info, or anything else in your business that you can automate, you will gain hours of time back. And time equals money. Services like Calendly, Timetrade, Hootsuite, Jotform, Later, Google forms, and other automated software systems are all ways to create efficiencies in your business.

Update Your Website

Your website is your storefront for your business. Just like brick-and-mortar stores that change their window scenes and merchandise their inventory, your website is the window to your business. So, it needs to reflect who you are, what you do, and how people can do business with you. If you are like most entrepreneurs, your business evolves over time. Therefore, your website needs to be updated every time you make a shift in your business.

It is also good to consistently add content to your website. Google likes to see that your website is being updated at least once a month. That is how they tell if you are still in business and decide to show your website in search engines or not.
