Rochelle Poulton, KLM Consulting

Rochelle Poulton is thrilled to be part of the KLM team! “Kelly Lorenzen is a brilliant business owner and project manager with a strong track record of helping businesses succeed.” In Rochelle’s years as a business owner and attorney, she successfully counseled other entrepreneurs and professionals through the most financially complicated events in their lives and businesses, often achieving results they believed would not be possible. She has nearly 20 years of experience in real estate, marketing, project management, and sales. Including a decade as a litigation attorney focused on financial matters for small business owners and self-employed professionals.

Rochelle has a Bachelor’s degree in English literature and a minor in psychology from the University of New Mexico. She completed her Juris Doctor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State. From there, she launched her consumer rights and small business representation law firm, and eventually opened a separate bankruptcy practice. Ten years after it began, Rochelle decided to move on from the full-time practice of law. Rochelle shifted focus to helping clients solve the same types of challenges using flexible and creative business consulting techniques. She loves the more functional and less formalized approach to achieving client goals quickly and efficiently.

In addition, Rochelle has nearly 20 years of real estate experience and is a licensed Realtor with Realty Executives.

Mal Owen, 123JUNK

Mal Owen has over thirty years of senior leadership experience. He has launched new businesses, nurtured startups, guided non-profits, and transformed struggling organizations. Importantly for sustainable success, he believes that “how you get there” is as important as “what you achieve.”

Central to Mal’s success has been building teams, creating strategic alliances, cultivating work environments, maximizing resources, and leveraging new technologies and information systems.

Mal’s most recent role is Chief Operating Officer for 123JUNK, based in Chantilly, VA. 123JUNK’s mission is to be the leading Donate – Recycle – Dispose company in the country. Mal continues to serve as an advisor to Smith Hager Bajo. A firm with specialized expertise in women and children’s healthcare management and facility planning.

Prior to his work in the commercial and non-profit sectors, Mal was trained as a research scientist. He received a prestigious NIH grant to complete his doctorate degree in exercise physiology from The University of Iowa. Mal went on to receive a post-doc through another grant. He completed his research on the neurophysiology of body temperature regulation in the College of Medicine at Ohio State University.

Besides Conscious Capitalism Arizona, Mal has been very active in non-profit service and professional organizations. One of Mal’s most cherished activities in the Washington, DC area. His five-year role as the co-leader of one of the largest, non-profit career support groups in the U.S. Recognized for its accomplishments by the Department of Labor, the group’s success led to his being invited multiple times by two Secretaries of Labor to provide his insights in focus groups and participate in special events hosted at the White House.
